Our Story

Agriculture built Nigeria
before oil

Before crude oil, agriculture was Nigeria's backbone. Cocoa, groundnuts, palm oil, cotton, and grains funded education, infrastructure, and global trade.

Young people took pride in farming, innovation, and production. It was respected work that built families and communities.

When oil was discovered, focus shifted. Agriculture was neglected. Knowledge stopped being passed down. Youth were taught to look elsewhere.

Today, Africa has the youngest population in the world — and the land, climate, and demand to feed itself and the world.

Farms.ng exists to help reorient youth back to agriculture — not as a struggle, but as a smart, modern, respected path.

What We're Building

A collaboration platform built on shared knowledge

We are building a growing archive of real farming experiences — what worked, what failed, and what others can learn from it. Created by farmers sharing their seasons, youth documenting practices, and field contributors adding local context.

Real stories, not theory

Every insight comes from lived experience, not textbooks.

Youth-powered agriculture

Young people help document, organize, and modernize farming knowledge.

Crop-by-crop learning

Knowledge is organized by crop, region, and stage.

Built on trust

Clear rules, moderation, and field contributors keep content honest.

Collaboration over isolation

Farmers and youth can find peers, form cooperatives, and support one another.

Over time, this knowledge helps farmers grow better, earn more, and avoid costly mistakes.
